ISA-RAL-M with MOS Sensor

CO Monitor

For Supplied-Air Respirators

  • Audio and Visual Alarms

  • Meter Display of Gas Concentration

  • Rugged Solid State Electronics

  • Sensor Typically Lasts Up to Three Years

  • Low Maintenance

  • Operates on 110 or 220 vac and/or 12 vac

  • Quick and Easy to Install

  • No Special Training Required to Operate

  • Includes Two Auxiliary Relays

The ISA-RAL-M carbon monoxide detector automatically and continuously monitors compressed air lines for CO and activates audio and visual alarms if the concentration of the contaminant rises above the preset limit in compliance with Federal OSHA regulations under Title 29, Section 1910.134 (d) (1) and (2) of the Code.

Federal OSHA regulations specify Grade D air for use with supplied-air respirators. In 1989, the Compressed Gas Association established a maximum concentration of 10 ppm CO for Grade D air as published in the ANSI/CGA Standard G-7-1.

ISA-RAL-M provides protection for the employer and the worker using supplied-air respirators by warning the personnel involved that carbon monoxide is present before it becomes a hazardous condition.

Specifications

Operating Power:

110 vac and/or 12 vdc; 220 vac optional on request

Auxiliary Relays:

Two SPDT (NO/NC) dry relays. Relays activate at the instrument alarm points, one at the low alarm and one at the high alarm. Capacity: (resistive load only) 2 amps, steady; 5 amps, surge.

Temperature limits:

0 to 110 ° F

Sensor:

Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) solid state gas sensor. Typical life: up to 3 years, with proper air filtration

Response Time:

5 minutes for 20 ppm CO (30 seconds to 90% final value). Response times decrease considerably for CO concentrations significantly greater than 20 ppm.

Inlet Pressure:

Maximum 250 psi

Enclosure:

Standard: NEMA-12, epoxy-painted steel.

Size and Weight:

6 x 8 x 4 inches; 10 lbs.

Wiring:

Line cord supplied for 110 vac operation. Can be hard wired using 1/2 inch conduit.

Sensor Cable Length:

Supplied with 10 foot sensor cable.

Audio Alarm:

2900 Hz, 95 decibels at 2 feet.

Hydrocarbon Filter Assembly:

P/N 73089-060. Designed to eliminate trace hydrocarbons which are present in some compressed air systems, this filter prevents build up of such hydrocarbons and helps ensure trouble-free operation of the CO monitor in such applications.
